A Winter Beach

Visit the Beach in the winter?

Standing by the Ocean in the cool winter months should be on the top of you “to do”  list.

The Beach will give you a chance to get out of your daily grind and get refocused.  The cooler ocean air will cleanse your soul and refresh your attitude.

The movement of the waves produce the negative ions and crisp salt air and high oxygen levels are refreshing and energizing, creating a powerful mental clarity.

If you have a decision to make or a problem to resolve or just need some time to reflect, the Ocean is the perfect stage to help put everything into perspective.

Just take a long walk along the beach, maybe watch the Dolphins play, collect a few seashells to put on your desk for mental getaways.

Bring the Dog –  he will show you the proper way to romp on the sand!

And you don’t have to worry about wearing a bathing suit!

Wishing you Peace-Love and Sandy feet

Happy New Year 2012

Happy New Year!

Although I am feeling a little fuzzy this morning after an evening of celebrating New Years Eve Carolina Beach style, music on the Boardwalk the dropping of the Beachball and beautiful fireworks as the new year was ushered in.

We enjoyed a walk around the boardwalk admiring how well the decorations has held under the ocean mist and winds. First a stop into the Dive for a couple cold ones before we walked over to the Fat Pelican, where it was happily packed with revelers, to gather around the fireplace to stay warm.

It sure is unusual to see people dressed in winter wear, hats coats and boots, but there were a few die hard’s wearing shorts and flip flops as the temps rose into the high 60’s during the day but dropped quickly after dark to the 40’s.

Every year Carolina Beach and Kure Beach alternate the fireworks and beach ball drop, this year the festivities were at our boardwalk.

With a New Year 2012 comes the typical “this year I’m gonna…” statements, but my largest goal is to make this blog one that you will follow and read and join me in my adventures at the Beach.

Your suggestions for improvement and advice is welcomed!
